Animal Loving

When you first meet Katie she's very very quiet, but when you find out more about her she's talkative. Her favorite thing in the world are her animals, and it's not something people know about her on tap.

The concept of this series is that there is always a side to people. The concept of this series is that there is always a side to people. In the movie Shrek the main character, an ogre, said he was like an onion, because there are layers to himself. In my interest in the human personality, I find people are the same way. From my experience, when two people meet both put on a front, or an outer layer, either consciously or unconsciously. Later on people get to know their new friends and find out who they really are. This series is about the truth and inner layer of my subjects.

The image's importance is to give the viewer the ability to be in their place. To make the compositions significant they are reliant of the lighting, items, and expressions on my subject's faces. This emotion on their face has the viewer think about who they really are instead of what they look like, and the lighting states the mood of the photograph. The expression could represent something personal, or it can represent something on the outer layer. I am interested in how they relate to me, and to other people in the world on a personal level.
